Hey everyone,

My first attempt at livejournal has outlived it's usefulness, with the purple pastels and the bad entries and all...time to move on. I'm giving it another go at [info]double_shadow. The layout is still a bit to be desired, so save those critical comments for later. Please be my friend(s). Thanks one million!

I have a story to tell...

It's called "I hate having to listen to my roommate and his girlfriend have sex."

Catchy title, no?

THE END

Although this post may get lost in the shuffle of your "friends" page, please take note. Very, very soon I will be starting a new Livejournal. More details once I procure a handle and background.

What a lazy day today has been. Just so lazy!! If you ask my mom, every day in my life is a lazy day. So don't ask her. I mean it.

Turns out that Lowe's liked me enough to offer me a job with them. Not quite the wage that I wanted, but it will do, especially since it is more than Crate and Barrel pays me AND it's as much as I made at Home Depot. And that is just a starting wage. So that's pretty exciting.

So Pat and I decided to go to East Coast Super Subs, which just reopened in our neighborhood, for dinner/supper/that meal after lunch. It used to be this place called Hazy Days, which was a hooka bar/regular bar/all around cool place to hang out, but they closed down shortly before we moved into the neighborhood. Well anyways, we chose to walk there since it's so ridiculously close. And as we're leaving the house, one of my cats starts walking with us. Now my cat, Athena, has followed me out of the house before, and one time went about half-way with me to the park before deciding better of it. But this time, she had the courage/gumption/lack of intellegence to stay the course and made it all the way to the front door of the restaurant. Then as Pat and I head inside, she tries to follow us inside. And last time I checked, animals in any food setting is some sort of health code violation. Plus it's just weird to walk into a joint with your cat. Well I make sure she stays outside, and we sit down at the bar area. So I place my drink order and head back outside, and sure enough, Athena is perched on the wall. So I go back inside and chill for a bit. The food comes out, and I take a few bites (btw, great sandwich...just amazing) before heading outside again to see if she's still there. Well I go outside and I don't see her initially, but as I round the corner of the building, I see her hiding behind a large agave-type plant(probably an agave). So I go back, finish up with the food, and Pat and I strike towards home. And sure as shit, Athena is waitng just down the road in front of some house. And she walks back with us all the way to the house. Crazy fucking cat. No wonder Maura calls me the cat lady. Yeah that's right, cat LADY. Oh well.

I'm good, how about you? LATE!

Well I figure this is as good of a time as any to update. Although I am sure only one person will read this I'm going to do it anyways, because it makes me feel better.

I'm going to the DES (Department of Economic Security) office to interview for a job at Lowe's. It's kinda funny that a federal office would help Lowe's hire potential employees for their new store. Either the government is desperate to show an increase in new jobs so as not to look bad, or someone is tired of Home Depot having a choke-hold on the home improvement market. Well anyways, I sincerely hope to work for them, especially knowing that because of my time working with Home Depot, they will give me two more dollars an hours...as a starting wage. And an employee discount, something the Depot didn't do. Which is pretty fucking sweet if you ask me. Cross your fingers, cross your toes.

This year is almost finally over, and I'm so ready for it to be. I think it's time for some change in my life. A new year is always good for that kind of shit. I mean, besides the whole resolution thing...who actually follows through on those things anyways? But I'm at the point in my life where things need to change for the better. A good job where I make decent money is a great place to start, however it is not the destination. I'm going to try playing more basketball this week, since the Thanksgiving weekend sort of sidetracked me from my whole eating right/exercising kick. I figure, start with the outside, and then go inward. And honestly, it would take less time for me to fix how I look than who I am.

Like clockwork, another member of my family on my dad's side has passed away. A lot of these relatives are of my grandparents generation, so it's expected at some point. If my nana and tata were still alive, they'd be like 90ish. So I get to go up with my dad up on Tuesday and Wednesday to Globe for the wake/rosary/burial. Gotta love the catholics...they drag everything out longer than it needs to be...I mean two days for all this stuff? Come on...well at least I'll get to spend some time with my extended family. I never seemed to see them except at funerals. It's sad really.

This should be enough for now. This was very cathartic. Really. LATE!

P.S. I have a new icon. It's from the show Twin Peaks...if you didn't know...you moron.

Well it's been quite the week and a half since my first entry. And I thought my life was boring...oh well.

So in my endless search for a job(i.e. two weeks), I finally was offered a job by Crate & Barrel. It's pretty exciting, actually. I get to wear nice clothes and sell over-priced furniture and stuff. Well their houseware are really cool...in fact I might have to buy some with my 30% discount. I mean I should probably pay off some bills first, but we'll see. And I wouldn't mind if I was offered a permanent position after the holiday season is over. They're only open until 7 p.m. Sunday thru Thursday, and 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, so I'm guaranteed to get out of work at a reasonable time. Considering how my Home Depot situation ended up, I'm pretty thankful to have a job like this. It looks pretty easy.

Looks like more time up in Tempe this weekend(Sorry Allie!), and Maura and I are going to my sister's house on Thursday for dinner. That should be fun, especially since I can talk politics without fear of being ridiculed or being called a communist and a tree-hugger, of which I am neither. I just don't understand how my family, with our humble mining roots, churned out so many republicans. Maybe it's just my mom, because my aunt and all of her kids are quite liberal. It's weird...and my Uncle Jessie grows "the pot" while also working as a tile setter. Hmm...

So I gots meself a new icon. Funny what comes out of the images search on google when you type your name in...and I didn't find porn until like the 7th or 8th page. I mostly found picture of trucks and karate. Simply amazing.

Um....I think this is enough for now. Late!

Here it is, folks. My very first livejournal entry...now don't get all misty-eyed. Who knows how often I'll even use this thing. But hey, it's a start. So..........don't have anything to write about, but here's something I stole from Maura...who stole it from Kevin Bondelli. Enjoy!

This is what came out when I typed "Gabe needs" into the Google search box, plus some choice comments about all of them:

Gabe needs a cow (Okay.)
Gabe needs Elisa too much (Who's Elisa?)
Gabe needs to be quite efffeminate (...)
Gabe needs to shut his mouth (For sure.)
Gabe needs supervision (That too...)
Gabe needs more supervision (Okay, I get the point, ugh.)
Gabe needs help (Alright, that's quite enough!)
Gabe needs to hoist himself up onto anything 4' high (uhh...)
Gabe needs work (Tell me about it.)
Gabe needs to get across an exploding bridge (Maybe not so much.)
Gabe needs fake chocolate (Real will do.)
Gabe needs to have his arse severly kicked and is a major loser (That's it....I'm done.)

That'll do pig, that'll do...and to all my hordes of readers(3 and counting!), thanks for being apart of this momentous occasion. More to come, I'm sure...I just need to do things. Like get a job, for instance. Then I'll have something to write about. Late!
